About us

Art reflects the variety of Universe spectrums and expands cultural horizons. We believe that beauty transforms our reality. It helps to create a better place for living, pass some meaningful ideas and inspire for good. Through art one can glean different individuals’ inner worlds. Art expands borders in communication when one speaks from one’s heart expressed in painting. It could be understood by everyone and bring people together rather than separate.

We want to present Russian artists representing Russian culture - something we are more intimately familiar with - and their perceptions of the Universe.

Red Canvas is not about religion or nation - it is a story of ordinary people expressing how they view their reality, how they convey the universal values of Beauty and Peace.

We have confidence

True art it is not about some chosen or exceptionally gifted people. We are confident that true art is about a message to the world that the artist transmits from the experiences of one’s own life to encourage the Good, to generate a positive response and not destruction.

1

Artist should describe reality through own spirit, mind, heart, and hands.

2

Artist’s work is a reflection of inner life and inner thoughts.

3

Art itself as a “visual” language is the main focus.

Strategy and goals

To show life as it is with all its beauty and meaning. Pass this message to the audience, and prove that beauty exists and meaning could be found. We think paintings are a tangible proof of this.

To gather artists and exhibit their work. Help artists to communicate with a broader audience and pass their message.

We want to present Russian artists representing Russian culture - something we are more intimately familiar with and their perceptions of the Universe.

Esya was born in 1973 in Moscow. Esya’s favorite themes are landscapes and views of some small rural Russian cities around Moscow. Life observation as is: smooth, hard and simple, without beautification. She thinks that beauty one can see only when mystery and eternity is involved. Truth of simple life is Esya’s focus; it helps her to find insights for herself. Behind each place and house there are somebody’s life, thoughts and mystery that she wants to pass to observers.

From 1986-1990 Esya was studied in Moscow Youth Art School and after that joined in 1990-1998 Olkhova Art Studio. In 2004 she graduated from Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute. In 2007 she was awarded a diploma by the Russian Artist Union. In 2010 she became a member of Moscow Artist Union. In 2011 she has joined Russian Artist Union.

Marusya makes her painting on old wooden boards, which she collects in her village or anywhere she travels. It could be old frames, cupboard doors or parts of trunk boxes. The shape of these boards is left unchanged, she decorates these boards with some images or pictures in traditional Russian style. One could think these are some stylized characters, but in each of these images Marusya shows her own very thoughtful view. She works in graphic as well, vividly expressing understandable ideas of love, care and beauty.
